Brooklyn Pizza & Grill was established in 2019 by the creator Filippo Sparacio. Filippo was born in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. He then moved to Sicily, Carini at the age of one. Filippo and his family returned to Brooklyn at the age of 10. With his family being in the pizzeria industry – Filippo knew at such a young age that he had a passion for pizza. He would help his family at their pizzeria from washing dishes to prep. He was eager to learn and study the ins and outs of the business hoping to one day be able to apply it to his own pizzeria.
When Filippo was a teenager he realized school wasn’t the path he was meant to be on. He spent over a decade working at several pizzerias mastering his craft. In 2018 Filippo took his passion, dedication and craft and took over Sal’s Pizzeria which was the former Brooklyn Pizza & Grill. Filippo saw a huge opportunity in this specific pizzeria and location. After a year, Sparacio changed the name to “Brooklyn Pizza & Grill” – Home of the Square!
Brooklyn’s customer base is expanding beyond Haddon Heights, as more people are drawn in by its authentic recipes. Since day one he uses only the best quality – one thing Filippo promises is, him and his team will never sacrifice the quality of their product or take short cuts – “quality over quantity”. Every pizza is made with pride, effort & perfection and most of all THE FINEST QUALITY INGREDIENTS. As, Filippo says, “No pizza leaves Brooklyn without meetings his standards.”
The business has grown exponentially over the past few years and are very thankful of every single customer. Filippo has been featured in numerous articles and magazines – Voted Top 20 Best New Pizzeria in NJ by NJ.com 2020, NJPen, New Jersey Monthly, South Jersey Magazine, and that’s just to name a few. Nevertheless, his passion for pizza continues to grow everyday. He never stops experimenting and honing his craft.
